MIAMI FASHION WEEK: White Sands Australia 2013

It was the parade of Glamazons from Down Under.  The White Sands swimwear collection featured strong, tall models strutting their fit physiques down the runway.  The swimsuits themselves were a mix of shirred details reminiscent of vintage 1960's suits with halter bikini tops, wrapped bandeau one-piece and clean color palette of pale lemon yellow, blush and white.  There was a shadow floral print as well as a faded tea rose print in bigger scale use on the bathing suits as well as cover-ups.  The cover-ups were more similar to nightgowns than the vampy looks of other collections.

MIAMI SWIM WEEK: White Sands Style from Down Under Spring 2011

Friday evening at the Raleigh Hotel Penthouse, Australian designer Leah Madden debuted her collection to Miami. New to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim lineup, the White Sands collection was founded in 2008. The looks were dominated by illustrative prints of tropical fronds and flora. The silhouettes were feminine and flattering. The cover-ups were breezy and loose.
The hairstyling was casual, as if the models looked like they just stepped out of Bondi Beach. The shoes were high cork-heeled and strappy. Other accessories were mostly black and simple, making the bathing suits the star.
