Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2013 at The Louvre

Luxury brand Salvatore Ferragamo made history Tuesday as the first designer to present a fashion show in the legendary museum of The Louvre.  A sculptural collection of textured cutouts, fringe, tailored jackets, constructed dresses looked right at home next to Leonardo Da Vinci's St. Anne exhibit.

A subdued palette of stone, nude and marble seemed to suit the surroundings of world famous statues near the runway.  Luxurious finishes of hand crocheted dresses, lacings, suede patchwork and studded embroidery were complemented by an inspiration of eternal summer.

The world's elite flew in for the special show presented by  Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti.  Celebrities like Freida Pinto, Hillary Swank, Leighton Meester and Fan Bing Bing wore Ferragamo to honor the designer as fans.
